A force for positive change in Wilmington’s medical community for thirty-three years, Dr. Hormoze Goudarzi continues practicing medicine even though he could retire at any time. “The spirituality behind medicine, this reaching out and helping people every day – that is what keeps me at work”, he explains. “Patients are like family to me. They rely on me to take care of them. This is the most satisfying aspect of my work.”

Because of his expertise; he not only has received media attention but has also published several papers in highly regarded medical journals such as the British Medical Journal. In addition, he was the guest of the Chinese government in 1995 to promote modern surgery in various medical centers.
